Description

White Petrified Wood is a type of wood fossil that has undergone a mineralisation process like other types of petrified wood, but it has a special feature: the white colour.

The white colour is due to a number of factors, including the presence of minerals such as quartz or limestone.

Like other types of wood, white petrified wood retains the original structure and texture of the wood, but its organic compounds are replaced by minerals such as silica, limestone or hematite. Because of this process, white petrified wood is a hard, resistant and valuable material.

This stone is found in many parts of the world, but mainly comes from Arizona in the US, Madagascar and Indonesia.
