Brown Obsidian is a brown volcanic rock, which is formed when volcanic lava cools very quickly. This rapid cooling process prevents the formation of crystals, which results in brown obsidian being an amorphous rock. This means that it doesn't have a crystalline structure. Brown obsidian is quite popular and can be found in many parts of the world, including the USA, Mexico and Iceland. Unlike black obsidian, which has a deep black colour, brown obsidian is characterised by many shades of brown ranging from dark brown to light brown. This stone is known mostly for its healing and protective properties. It is believed to protect against negative energies and release from negative emotions, such as anger and grief.
