Chrysoprase is a semiprecious stone characterised by a green colour, ranging from pale green to deep green. Because of the presence of nickel, this stone takes on the green colour. It consists mainly of silicon with traces of nickel and other minerals. It has a hardness of 6.5-7 on the Mohs scale, which means it is quite resistant and suitable for decorative objects. Chrysoprase is found mainly in Australia, but can be also found in the USA, Brazil and Madagascar. This stone is believed to calm the mind, promote concentration and strengthen immune system and physical healing.
