Description

Black Mother Of Pearl is a type of mother of pearl, characterised by various dark shades, ranging from grey to deep black.

It is composed mainly of conchiolin and aragonite, two minerals that give to mother of pearl its characteristic iridescence and lustre.

The black mother of pearl with a "random" structure differs from the one with a "brick" structure, by the irregular arrangement of the minerals inside the mother of pearl. This gives the black mother of pearl a natural, organic look, with an irregular, iridescent surface that reflects light differently depending on the viewing angle.
